INBETWEEN Heaven and Hell
James Mulling

What on Earth are we doing here? And since we are here, what are we doing with our time?

Early morning, the alarm clock buzzing  reminds us that another day has arrived. Yesterday's memos flood our mind to remind us a new day has begun. Responsibilities, promises, projects, deadlines, and meetings, there is no doubt these are some of the common threads that drives all of humanity into being "TASK" oriented. As if by design, we all move forward towards the inevitable" END ".

Interesting fate isn't it?

We live, we work, and we die. The reality of that is, was, and will be, determined when we  slip into eternity.

The Earth has been granted to us by God as the place of making eternal decisions.

So what are we doing with the precious time we are allotted by God?

Here is a fundamental expectation from God, we have been given a task by and  are expected to complete it! God is our creator and He created each of us for a purpose.

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before on of them came to be." ( Ps.139:13-16)

As soon as God created us we received a task; and, He wants us, expects us, to complete it, especially if we gave him permission to "BE LORD OF OUR LIVES".

“As God's fellow workers we urge you not to receive God's grace in vain. For he says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you." I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation." (Math 7: 21) “Not everyone who says to me 'Lord. Lord' will enter the kingdom of heaven. But only he who does the WILL of my Father who is in heaven."  ( 2 Cor. 6:1,2)

So we are here for a purpose!  Do you know your purpose?

“My frame was not hidden from you When I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."  (PSALMS 139: 15,16)

No words spoken from man, could describe the feelings God had when He conceived us. What is it about us that deserved so much attention from the Lord of all creation? When I read the beginning of Genesis, the very opening words express the nature of God. “In the beginning God "CREATED".

What the Holy Spirit is revealing is that our God reproduced Himself in His creation, and especially in the part called “MAN".  He empowered us with the similar ability that God has, to create.

"Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was his name."  (Genesis  2:19)

How humbling is the thought of Almighty God giving man the honor of naming parts of His creation. Since the time of the naming of all living creatures by Adam, not one LIVING creature has evolved into renaming itself. A whale is still called a whale, and a Man is still called a Man. When God created the sun, moon, and stars, the names will never change until God decides to change it. When God allowed man to name His living creatures, He didn't change the names because He didn't like them, even after the flood they were the same. Nor will He most likely change those names into eternity. Why? Because what Adam named the living creatures in the eyes of God was "GOOD".

God did not blame His living creatures for Adam's sin. Therefore, He kept their names. Before the fall Adam was creatively perfect and holy. So the names, like "the spoken word of God", will be eternally true.

"The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox, but dust will be the serpent's food. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my Holy Mountain," says the Lord." (Isaiah 65: 25)

We see Adam's spoken words of creation, in the naming of the animals, will be carried on through eternity. Whatever God deems to good no man can change the eternal value of it.

I find it very interesting that God established precedence for us in order to remind us that by giving His creation the power to create He revealed a divine truth. If we create or speak things in His Name, by our words, our actions, and our deeds all of it is good, and it glorifies the father; subsequently then those are the things that will carry on or have consequences to eternity.

“For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer. If you point these things out to the brothers, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, brought up in the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed. Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales; rather train yourselves to be Godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life TO COME." ( 1 Tim 4: 4-8)

Since the God of the universe created us, then it stands to reason we, each one of us who were chosen, were set apart from all the rest of His creation to do what no other could possibly do, and that is to CREATE all that is "GOOD".

" For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."( Eph 2:10 )

"Then God said, Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." ( Gen 1: 26 )

There are no boundaries when we create "IN THE WILL of God". We have already been created and purposed by his grace from the foundations of the earth too do good works. When we rebel against the WILL of God, we only resist the potters will to fashion us into His perfect plan for our lives. That demonstrates the love of the Father, to allow his creation the CHOICE of yielding to His perfect plan or not?

When we, as man, fashion or create anything, it is limited, with or without GOD'S CREATIVE WILL, to choose to be other than what we decided it to be.  I believe this is why we, as man, are so rebellious to God's plan for our lives. We do not want anyone to tell us how to live our lives; or, to say to us that we were created to serve the will of someone else. So we strive hard to create our own identity separate from God, creating something with our own hands, making our own choice, to be other than what God's will is for us to be, and in doing so become our own God. Sound familiar? The fall of Satan! Pride cometh before the fall.

“But who are you, O man, to talk back to God?” Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, “why did you make me like this? Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?" (Rom 9: 20,21)

The consequence is obvious for those whom God has revealed it to, and to those who understand the fear of God.  "Fear of the Lord" is the beginning of all wisdom."

If we choose to rebel against God's creative will for our lives, then we will bring His judgment upon ourselves. The price for rebellion without repentance is eternal separation from God. In fact, God will not only separate you from his presence, but He will remove from you the protection of His love.

Hell is the place called eternal death. There is no relief from pain there, only to experience forever the reminding agony of us rejecting His WILL. “The foundation of rebellion is built with hands of idols."

Is the pursuit of wood, stubble, and hay (worldly things) worth the eternal separation in the sea of eternal agony; or is now the time to repent and ask God for mercy, of His divine revelation, of His perfect will for your life?  He HAS recorded every day that you live, and even the one that you die; every good and bad thing you do is recorded. In Fact, the good that is recorded is what His will for you was, and the bad is what your selfish will was.

While we have breath, let us do the will of our father and live a God oriented life. AMEN?

What is God's will for my life?

“Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." ( Math 6: 10)

This scripture has a myriad of hidden treasures, if you look for it, as does all of God's Holy word, the Bible

What book do I need to read; and, how many prayers do I have to lift up to the Lord before I get my answer? Do I really need to ask at all; and, if I ask, will I really like what God says?

The only way to really know the will of God is to read his Holy word. It sounds simple, but many people in the faith don't study the word of God. I was shocked to find, through my own personal interaction with Christians, that the numbers are extremely low. Christians can sometimes quote scriptures that brought them to salvation, or that has helped them through some rough time: but, most have no discernment as to the application of scripture for everyday life. This is alarming, especially in the hour that the Church is in today. It reminds me of the scripture when Jesus was in Gethsemane and asking Peter, James and John to watch and pray. The amazing revelation Jesus was showing  then, is the same now, the hour of His return is upon us.

Like Peter, James and John, the Church has fallen asleep and the enemy slipped into our pews disguised as a lamb. How can we, as the Church, keep watch if we can't even describe our enemy to our own brethren? And how do we know what to pray for, if we can't even hear our Father's voice? Jesus gave us the same warning as He did to His disciples at the last supper. He told them openly who would be the betrayer among them that night. The problem was they were not listening. They were to busy eating, drinking, reclining, and positioning for honor.

These very things catch the church sleeping today, unaware of the enemy about to overtake them. The answer He gave concerning their question, who will be called the greatest in the kingdom of heaven was indeed powerful; part of His reply was in the form of washing their feet. This picture burned itself into my  soul; it is the servant who will be busy watching and praying in the hour of the church’s need. For they will be busy doing the work of the Lord, instead of selling out to recline in comfort and honor.

The modern day betrayal of our Lord and Savior hasn't changed. Its still about EATING, DRINKING, MONEY, POWER, HONOR, SELF-INDULGENCE and RECOGNITION and FALLING ASLEEP INSTEAD OF PRAYING (DOING HIS WILL).

All throughout history the day of the Lord caught most everyone by surprise. The very thing that destroyed mankind during the flood is closing in upon us again.

"Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying, and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the Ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulphur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. It will be "JUST LIKE THIS” on the day the Son of Man is revealed." ( Luke 17: 26-30)

These are all symbols of security, they are the very things that Christ warned us not to over indulge in, and to never put them before the Lord. When man works to obtain a false sense of security, God's wrath will ultimately ensue. There is no insurance plan that can protect us from the certain calamity sent by God, except by repenting through His son Jesus. Jesus showed by example that man does not live by bread alone, but by the very word of God.

He also said No man can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. He also says “Do not store up FOR YOURSELVES treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for your selves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

How is it that the Church has mistakenly created a prosperity Gospel over the prosperity OF the Gospel. The treasures we store up here on earth are not the same treasures Christ was referring to. "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven".

The will of the Father is to offer the only worthwhile thing left in the universe, to choose the Love of the almighty eternal God. Man has been granted a stay here on earth, to be granted their own choice of which eternity to choose, life or death. The scriptures say that “My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."( PS. 139: 15,16).

A woman was the last thing created by God because He rested on the seventh day from all that He had made. Man was first, and He allows modern man the same opportunity, to exercise his own will by accepting or rejecting God's will. The Angels were given the same opportunity in heaven and 1/3rd made their eternal choice. We were shielded from entering heaven to make our choice. Instead God gives us heaven as a reward for making the right choice. The Devil abided  in the whole Kingdom of God and all its glory, and he rejected it, and was cast down to earth. Now he can only temporarily rule over what will eventually be destroyed, only to be remade again in its perfect state by God. So he chose to decline the gifts, the beauty of heaven, for things that lead to eventual death, things that rust and decay. This takes on a whole new meaning when we realize just how important and loved we are to our Father in Heaven. The will of our Father is for us to choose what is already ours to inherit.

His will is for us to choose life eternal over eternal death. The enemy is wanting us to sell out our inheritance for things that keep our minds off the eternal consequences for our disobedience. As long as he can distract us from what God has willed for us, he knows that we will loose our rewards in heaven. If he can't get our souls he will make sure he thwarts all the good God had in store for our lives. Every good thing He planned for our lives is already written in the book of life. The distractions of life come about when we choose too eat the crumbs from the masters table instead of eating from the banquette that He invited us to .
