Too Much, Part II

Robbie L. Rogers

My wife and I have recently been praying for a desire of the heart. I will not disclose it for it belongs to us alone. In our desire to serve the living God, even before ourselves, we seek God’s guidance first; maybe we should do this more often, such as the way the Ugandans do. They seek the Lord for everything. They do not wait for the Lord on everything, only those things that they know the Lord says, wait. So we too waited for an answer.

You know, God does not usually answer twice on the same subject when He has already answered you about it. Sometimes He will... if we are hardheaded; but, usually there is silence when we ask about things He has already answered. So finally, concerning our hearts desire, He said, and I believe that besides my wife and me this is for many others in the Christian body including the nation:

"You have been given blessings shaken down and overflowing, but you have not done what you ought to have done with much of what you have been given. Though you are a good steward with most things, you have been found lacking in the overabundance you received; you let some of it fall to the ground and rot.

"I will not give you more until you find it more important to repent from your failure to wisely use your overabundance than you do in seeking your desires. Be careful that when you receive such things from now on that you fully examine from whence they come; for Satan will give you more and more to confuse and magnify your difficulties, while I myself will withhold such blessing until you are more ready to receive them.

"Do not be deceived, some of your abundances, ones you might think are from Me, are not. Turn back to your first love and cast out your overabundance to those whom I direct you to give unto. If you fail in this little task, you will bring worse things than burning coals upon you, for you will find much of what you have been given will be taken away. When you see the locusts coming, know they come to devour your disobedience, not you excesses." Thus saith the Lord.
