Straight Talk About Hell
HELL IS
A TERRIBLE PLACE
The Bible is a history book that reveals how God created everything
and how man messed it up. Earth was absolutely perfect until God made
man. Almost at once he disobeyed God making himself no longer in close
fellowship with the Lord. It wasn’t long and God missed the fellowship
and initiated a plan to restore it.
The Old Testament reveals how God prepared the way for the birth of
Jesus thousands of years later. Within it are many prophecies telling of
the future Messiah or Deliverer who was to come. The New Testament
reveals His birth and chronicles His life and death on a cross for us.
You see, all the sins committed by man have to be judged. God is Holy
and those who come to Him to live in His house must also be holy. This
is impossible except by God’s generous plan offered to all humans who
can become holy like God.
Jesus took our punishment on the cross. God was satisfied when He
allowed His Son to bear the blows from the scourge, the beating from the
Roman soldiers, the crown of thorns, the spit and degrading slurs, and
finally the large spikes that nailed Him to die.
As Jesus hung there two criminals were next to Him. One admitted his
crimes and asked Jesus to, “Remember me when you come into your
Kingdom.” The second was unrepentant and cursed the Lord, even despising
Him as he suffered.
The first criminal became the first person to be
saved by grace. Amazing grace was lavished upon him as Jesus looked over
and simply said, “Today, you shall be with me in Paradise.” God could
see the sins of each one but Jesus the Savior responded as he will to
anyone who is repentant. It saddens me that the second criminal didn’t
change his mind and cry out to Jesus to save him too. You see, he didn’t
fear God at all.
If you do, why not tell God how you feel about your sinful life? Why
not tell him how much you appreciate Jesus taking your place and
suffering for you? Why not ask God to forgive you for your sins? He
wants to do it right now. He said that He takes no delight in the death
of a sinner but that he would repent and be saved. Then, you should
inhale the Spirit of Jesus by faith. The second birth is like the first,
it begins with a breath.
The Holy Spirit is the Breath of God and will come into you
instantly. Then you are “born again” and headed to Heaven on the day He
calls your name. It is already registered in the small book of life.
Aren’t you happy that the sins you have committed have been erased and
forgotten by God. Why should He remember them anymore. He saw them on
Jesus and they were paid for “In Full”. Glory Hallelujah.
You need to be baptized as this is obedience to Jesus. The water is a
grave and when you go under it consider it to be the grave for you too.
When you come up and inhale air it is the same as the New Birth given
when you believed upon Jesus and His death and resurrection. Ask the
Holy Spirit to lead you to a faithful Pastor who also fears God.
Aren’t you glad that you can now share this message with thousands so
they too can escape the coming judgment? Jesus said those who refuse it
will weep and wail as they hear the condemnation for their sins. They
have refused the free gift of eternal life. Aren’t you thrilled you
didn’t. Let’s help them change their minds.
