Eight Covenants Rudi and Marie Cegielski Most generally believe there are two Biblical covenants; the Old and the New. Scofield"s Bible indicate there are eight. 1. Edenic- ( Gen 1:28) And God blessed them, and God said to them; be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it and rule over the fish of the sea, and the birds of the sky, and over every living creature that moves on the earth".... 2. Adamic- ( Gen 3:14-15) "and the Lord said to the serpent. because you have done this, cursed are you more then all cattle, and more then every beast of the field; on your belly you shall go, and dust shall you eat, all the days of your life; and I will put enmity Between you and the woman, and between her seed and your seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel"....... 3. Noahic- ( Gen 9:8-17)? ( cited-(9: 20-21) Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took every clean animal and of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And the Lord smelledd the soothing aroma, and the Lord said to Himself; "I will never again curse the ground on account of man, for the intent of man's heart is evil from his youth; and I will never again destroy every living thing, as I have done"........ 4. Abramic ( Gen 12:1-3)Now the Lord said to Abram, go forth from your country, and from your relatives, and from your father's house, To the land which I will show you; and I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you, And will make your name great; and so you shall be a blessing, and I will bless those you bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed"... 5. Mosaic- ( Ex 2: 1-26) ....Basically the Ten commandments, and an initial offer for the people to come to the mountain ( Ex 19:5-9 ) If you obey My voice and keep My covenant, then: : You shall be my own possession........ : You shall be to me a kingdom of priests...... : You shall be a holy nation : ...The people shall hear when I speak to you....... : (Ex 20: 20) ...." Do not be afraid, for the God has come in order to test you, and in order that the fear of Him may remain in you, so that you may not sin"..... 6. Palestinian- ( Deut 29:1-30:20) Highlights: : "Yet to this day the Lord has not given you a heart to know, nor eyes to see, nor ears to hear"...... : ( Deut 29:18-29) curses......... 7. Davidic- ( II Sam 7:4-16) Promise of Jesus who will establish the kingdom........ 8. New Covenant-( Heb 8:7-13) : "for if the first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion sought for a second" : "New covenant- with the house of Judah, and the house of Israel, not like the covenant which I made with their fathers....." : "I will put My laws into their mind" : "And I will write them upon their hearts" : "And I will be their God, and they will be My people"....... : "for all shall know me"....... : "for I will be merciful to their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more"........
